🚀 Installation Methods
Method 1: One-Click
Recommended for most users
- Extract downloaded ZIP file
- Open extracted folder
- Double-click
start-desktop-app.bat - Wait for automatic setup (2-3 minutes)
- Login with RegardingWork credentials
Method 2: Command Line
For advanced users
1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator
2. Navigate to folder:
cd C:\path\to\windel114
3. Install and run:
npm install
npm run electron
Method 3: PowerShell
Windows PowerShell option
1. Open PowerShell as Administrator
2. Set execution policy (if needed):
Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned
3. Run installer:
.\start-windows.ps1
🧪 Testing Your Installation
Quick Test Sequence:
- Login with your RegardingWork credentials
- Start Timer - Select "1 Test Timer" for quick test
- Wait for timer completion (1 minute)
- Log Session - Fill category and notes
- Submit - Should show "Session Saved!" message
- Verify - Check your RegardingWork profile
Success Indicators:
- Projects dropdown shows your actual projects
- Categories properly loaded
- Timer completion navigates correctly
- Session submission succeeds
- Session appears on profile
- Slack notification posts
🐛 Common Issues & Solutions
Symptoms: Double-clicking does nothing or shows error
Solutions:
- Install Node.js v18+ from nodejs.org
- Run Command Prompt as Administrator
- Check antivirus isn't blocking the app
- Whitelist the app folder in Windows Defender
Symptoms: Credentials rejected or timeout
Solutions:
- Verify credentials at game.regardingwork.com
- Use exact username case (e.g., "Christian" not "christian")
- Check internet connection and firewall
- Try different network (mobile hotspot)
- Restart app and try again
Symptoms: Red error message when submitting session
Solutions:
- Check anyway: Session likely saved despite error message
- Verify on your RegardingWork profile
- Wait 1 minute before submitting another session
- Restart app if persistent
Note: This is a known beta issue. Sessions usually save successfully despite error messages.
